Mastic, a resin obtained from the mastic tree, is traditionally produced on a Greek island named Chios. The taste is refreshing with slightly pine or cedar-like flavor. Mastic production in Chios is granted protected designation of origin.

Salep is a flour made from the tubers of the orchid genus Orchis very popular ingredient in Greece for its rich nutrients.
